Description

Handworks is a specialised Hand Therapy service providing expert diagnosis and rehabilitation for clients with hand injuries and upper limb dysfunction.

Our Hand Therapists are qualified physiotherapists or occupational therapists who have undertaken postgraduate studies in the area. They have advanced skills in the assessment, diagnosis and management of hand injuries or pathology.

Conditions treated include:

  • Acute hand trauma: i.e. fractures, dislocations, sprains, lacerations, tendons/nerves, crush injuries, burns, replantations
  • Overuse and pain presentations
  • Sports injuries of elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand
  • Post-operative hand surgery; i.e. Dupuytrens, joint replacements, repairs and reconstructions of tendons and nerves
  • Arthritic conditions of the hand
  • Paediatric and neurological hands


Handworks’ main clinic is in Greenlane/Epsom, with four satellite clinics in St Johns, Botany Downs, Mt Albert and Howick, ensuring easy access for central and eastern Auckland hand rehab clients.

Contact us

Telehealth: For patients who are unable to physically come into one of our clinics, we are able to offer Telehealth, an online video consultation.

We can consult with you wherever you are in New Zealand, as long as you have a computer or laptop with a camera and microphone and broadband, or a smart phone.

If this is unavailable or not feasible, we can also provide phone consultation.

Some therapists work varied shifts, enabling us to offer some out of hours appointments.
