Men and Trauma in Partnership with Trauma Recovery Aotearoa is a nationwide service providing flexible, accessible, client-centred clinical and peer support to survivors of traumas, of all genders. 

Our clinical team addresses the unresolved trauma driving the issues clients come to us with and any problematic behaviours they may also be experiencing such as:

  • Feeling like there's no-one who will understand you
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Shame
  • Suicidal thoughts and behaviour
  • Out of control feelings, such as rage
  • Grief
  • Relationship problems
  • Affected by another's suicide
  • Addictions: behaviours you find it hard to control
  • Concern over the behaviour of loved ones

Services offered include:

  • Peer Support: one-to-one
  • Peer Support Groups
  • Therapy Groups
  • Confidential Listening Service

All our services are available in person, in Wellington, or online.

Fees and Charges Description

Your finances won't be a barrier to support.

Our regular peer support groups are free, koha appreciated.

We ask each person to contribute what they can afford. You don't need to be embarrassed if you can't pay the full rate.

We appreciate those who can afford to pay doing so to assist others to be able to receive support.

10 Week Group Therapy for Male Survivors of Child Abuse (of any kind).

A 10-week foundation programme for Male Survivors of Child Abuse. This will help males understand themselves and their behaviours. Tools will be provided to help with wellbeing and self-care.
