Description
Lighthouse Southland provide the following programmes/interventions and support:
- Prevention of family violence programmes/interventions for those who self-refer (or are community referred) and are using violence or at risk of using violence.
- Safety Programmes for those experiencing violence.
- Group or individual programmes/interventions for those who have been referred by the Ministry of Justice or Department of Corrections.
- Adolescent Programme for young people aged 12-17yrs using violence/aggressive behaviour.
Our vision is to see those in our community feel valued and safe in relationships.

Lighthouse is overseen by a Board and has a Manager, Practice Manager and Family Violence Practitioners.
All of our team bring a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience.

We accept agency referrals e.g. from Police, Government agencies, Schools, Community Organisations and families.

L Lighthouse Southland offers an Adolescent Programme to youth, aged 12-17yrs, who are struggling with violence and managing their behaviours. Our team can work with the young person in our offices or with them at their school (currently only Invercargill schools). Referrals can be made by schools, alternative education providers, police, health professionals, other agencies, government departments and parents and caregivers. This programme covers: Ø Anger & Violence Ø Empathy Ø Self-management Ø Respect & Values/Beliefs Ø Communication & Relationships Ø Self-esteem Ø Wellbeing/Te Whare Tapa Whā Ø Grief/Trauma.
