Profile
Kate graduated from the University of Otago in 2011. She has worked in musculoskeletal private practice and in community-based DHB physiotherapy roles since she graduated. Kate is very experienced in exercise prescription particularly in relation to vocational rehabilitation, and enjoys seeing her clients who are unable to work because of their injuries return to their pre-injury roles through monitored strengthening. She works closely with our occupational therapists to design functional exercise programmes which compliment her clients work role. Kate has completed post graduate study in the assessment and management of chronic pain conditions, and has a special interest in treating chronic injuries using functional reactivation for persistent pain. Kate is also a footballer so has a good understanding of musculoskeletal injuries and return to sport protocols. She has also spent time as the team physiotherapist for men's and women's football teams. Outside of work, Kate enjoys boxing for fitness, spending time with her family and walking her dog.
