The Otago Brain Injury Association provides support, advocacy, information and education in order to promote quality life that maximises potential, choice and independence for people affected by brain injury. We provide a free and independent service throughout the entire Otago area supporting those with a brain injury and their families and carers.

The Brain Injury Association promotes an understanding of all aspects of brain injury, focusing not just on the impact on the individual but also on their families and others who care for them. Experience has shown education is the key to managing many of the issues that arise.  We provide education to families, schools, tertiary education, other agencies and the wider community.  This education can be tailored to whichever group to make it relevant to the audience.

We provide assistance around accessing services and support i.e. ACC, MSD and other government organisations or community agencies. We also provide peer support groups across Otago.  Our clients find it extremely helpful to have someone who is knowledgeable on entitlements and the systems they have to deal with, who is able to speak up on their behalf if required.
