Description

We provide services and run projects that benefit the health, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, moral and economic wellbeing of our members.

Welcome
He toto o tangata, he kai
Te oranga o te tangata he whenua
Tihei mauriora
Ko Oparure to maunga
Ko Mata-mata te mokai o Te Rakitauneke
Ko Hokonui te Rūnanga tiaki, ki nga uri o te whakapapa o Ngai Tahu – e noho nei
Tena kotou tena kotou tena kotou katoa

As Te Rakitaunekes' taniwha Matamata watches over the rohe of Hokonui its view takes in the rich landscape and sees further than the human eye to a world of endless possibility and choice. This powerful symbol of opportunity underpins the inspiring story that Hokonui Rūnanga has to tell. The rich mahinga kai areas of the past to the incredible mineral deposits of the modern day Hokonui are well placed to be an inspiring story of development married with traditional values.

The people of Hokonui have grown this organisation from humble beginnings to its current capacity delivering a range of whānau services and building spiritual, cultural, social and economic growth. Learn more about us as you journey through this website.

Our greetings to you all. Nau mai. Haere mai. Tauti mai.

We open our hearts and minds to you - welcome.
