Huakina aims to provide support in health & wellbeing, education and environmental issues to those in the Franklin, Manukau, Papakura and Waikato regions.

Environmental Services – Cultural assessments of Resource Consent applications, advice on Local / Regional Plans, provide advocacy and support.

Iwi Social services - Provide high needs social services.

Whare Oranga (Marae Based Health Clinic) - We offer FREE clinical and non clinical services e.g. GP, nurse, podiatry, smoking cessation, driver licensing seminars, self management programmes, health education and literacy for whaanau e.g. physical activity, nutrition.

Homecare service - We provide a range of services to enable people of all ages to remain in their own home and communities. Personal care and household management & other services at no cost to an individual are through a referral from Taikura Trust or Counties Manukau DHB NASC.  

Kaumātua Support Services – Activities and outings for vulnerable Kaumātua.  Digital Device Classes

Counselling at Huakina Counselling offers families, couples and or individuals the opportunity to speak in depth about their concerns. The counsellor attends to the ‘mamae’ (hurt) allowing the Social Workers to work with the action plan, enabling a holistic approach to whanau wellbeing.

Huakina offer three rural marae based clinics that provide whanau and the community with an environment and services that are reliable, accessible and safe as well as being a part of improving the overall quality of whanau and community lives and wellbeing. Homecare Support Services Provide a responsive and flexible homecare service, providing 24/7 support every day of the year. The Needs Assessment and Co-ordination agencies will have assessed your need for personal care or household management or other services that you may require to maintain your ability to remain in the place you live. The services which you have been assessed as eligible for by the NASC are provided at no cost to you. The Needs Assessment Agencies (NASC) are: Counties Manukau District Health Board of Older People, or Taikura Trust who will send a referral to our services if that is your choice. Services offered: Personal Care - Activities of daily living (assistance with showering safely, dressing and undressing, shaving, mobility [transfers in and out of bed] Meal Preparation - Kitchen tasks, preparing meals, support with eating/drinking Household Management - Laundry, vacuuming/mopping, dusting, kitchen duties, bathroom Buddy Activities - Activities, exercise, homework assistance Restorative Activities - Exercises [habilitation/rehabilitation]
