Whaiora means ‘in pursuit of wellness’. Whaiora offers a wide range of health and social services to our Wairarapa community.

Our hauora (health and social) services support the wellness of Wairarapa whānau and include:

  • Tamariki Services
  • Whānau Services
  • Kaiarahi Services (navigation)

We also operate a Very Low Cost Access (VLCA) Medical Centre for Masterton Māori, Pacific peoples, and people who have found it hard to afford or access healthcare.

Our Well Child Tamariki Ora Nurses work with whānau to help give tamariki the very best start in life. Our Well Child Tamariki Ora programme is a series of health assessments and support services for tamariki and their whānau from six weeks to three years.

Service navigator (Kaiarahi)

We support whānau to navigate appropriate health and social services so they can become more self-managing and achieve their goals and aspirations. Our navigators will: support individuals/whānau to plan, develop and achieve a set of goals and aspirations help individuals/whānau to overcome barriers that may impact on achieving their goals connect individuals/whānau with appropriate health organisations and/or social services

We support whānau to navigate appropriate health and social services so they can become more self-managing and achieve their goals and aspirations.

Our navigators will:

  • support individuals/whānau to plan, develop and achieve a set of goals and aspirations

Public Transport

Our facility is a 9 minute walk to Transit (the main bus terminal) and a 2 minute walk to Pak n Save bus stop on Chapel Street for the south bound bus route.

Parking

Within our premises, we have carparking including designated disabled and for cars transporting pepe (baby). There is also on street carparking on Queen Street - please check areas as some are time bound.
