Tryphina House, Whangārei Women's Refuge, provides support and information to women and children who experience family violence. Victims may be in same-sex relationships, transgender or non-binary. No one deserves to be abused and family violence is never OK. 

Our vision is for all women and children to live free from domestic and family violence. At Tryphina House, we won’t judge you. We will listen to you and support you to make choices for your safety. Kia kaha.

Abuse and violence support

We can help with referrals to Counsellors, Doctors, Lawyers and other Support Services. We offer education and support groups for women and children about living free from violence. We are Ministry of Justice approved to deliver Strengthening Safety Services and Adult Safety Services via individual or group education programmes. We can assist with Supervised Contact on a case by case basis. Tryphina House holds MSD Level 2 Provider approval and also provides childcare for the children of residential and community clients where able in their Playroom which is Licensed by the Ministry of Education.
