Description
Male Survivors Canterbury provide support services for men that have experienced sexual harm and abuse.
Age: Adult Men, though we interpret this quite broadly
Region: Canterbury.
Description:
CMC provides individual, peer and group support for men that have experienced abuse and sexual trauma, both historic and recent. We run weekly support groups and hear from a range of different men, and encourage you to get in touch if you think it's time to talk.
Individual Support - Our support team provides one-on-one support to talk through issues and emotions experienced following abuse and encourage survivors to access support in a safe and confidential manner. We can make referrals to other agencies, ACC counsellors and provide support with police disclosures, as required.
Peer and Group Support - An opportunity to meet other men who have experienced similar sexual abuse trauma. Validation from other men is very empowering for recovering survivors and healing works well with others.
MSC also supports families and friends of survivors and supports survivors within Canterbury prisons.
We will assist you through the ACC Sensitive Claims process if applicable.
