If you are experiencing anxiety, grief or depression, or if you’ve been affected by family violence, ChangeAbility can help.

Our wide range of programmes and counselling options have been designed to help people create positive change for themselves, their family and whānau.

We are based in Masterton providing services Wairarapa wide including Carterton, Featherston, Greytown, Martinborough, Pahiatua and Eketāhuna.

Abuse and violence support

ChangeAbility offers group and individual programmes to help those affected by family violence, including: family and whānau support services, Living Free: family violence safety programme and youth services. Family and whānau support services helps and supports families who have been or are currently affected by family violence. Living Free: family violence safety programme provides support, skills and practical information to help break free from the cycle of violence. Youth services provides a safe, friendly and non-blaming environment to help young people understand and explore the impact of violence and/or abuse in their lives.

Stopping violence services

We provide Building Respectful Relationships programmes for men and women who want to build safe, trusting and respectful relationships with their partner and other important people in their lives. Men: Building Respectful Relationships programme provides a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental atmosphere where men can talk openly with other men and our facilitators about their use of abuse and violence. Women: Building Respectful Relationships programme helps women address their own issues of anger, abuse or violence that they may be facing in their lives. For some women, this anger may be related to having experienced abuse in their own lives.

We provide Building Respectful Relationships programmes for men and women who want to build safe, trusting and respectful relationships with their partner and other important people in their lives.

Our Family and Whānau social workers are on hand to help and support families who have been or are currently affected by family violence.

Counselling

For individuals, couples, families and whānau who want to work with a professional counsellor to bring about positive change in their lives. We aim to provide a safe, respectful place for individuals, couples, families and whānau to resolve personal, social, or psychological challenges and difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, sexuality, parenting, and other emotional and relationship issues.

For individuals, couples, families and whānau who want to work with a professional counsellor to bring about positive change in their lives.

We aim to provide a safe, respectful place for individuals, couples, families and whānau to resolve personal, social, or psychological challenges and difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, sexuality, parenting, and other emotional and relationship issues.
