Franklin Family Support Trust is dedicated to providing quality services and support to assist families or individual members in the Franklin region. It currently offers counselling, social work service, parenting courses, budgeting, transport to hospital/DHB appointments, JP and legal advice service.

Our Financial Mentors aim to help families find security in handling their own financial affairs through the development of good money management skills. We can give advice and support to whaanau on the following financial topics; · Meeting your everyday financial needs · Making sure you are getting all your entitlements · Managing debt repayments · Advocacy on behalf of clients · Kiwisaver hardship applications · Insolvency assistance · Identifying and avoiding fraud · Planning for a positive financial future · To discuss and work through different financial options · Working out an achievable family budget

We believe using a holistic approach to address complex needs is better achieved when whaanau are empowered to restore the mauri in their pursuit to whaanau ora. Pohatu & Pohatu (2011) What we do Wrap-around-support for individuals and whaanau - internal & external supports Oho Wānanga for Waahine Maa - 4 wks (Oho is for women who have experienced or living in family & sexual harm, addictions and/or mental health) Koorero Ora sharing community space for our whaanau to koorero Advocacy Support Youth Support building healthy relationships between student, schools and their whaanau/families Aged 65yrs and over experiencing or at risk of abuse/harm or neglect How we work We know that often whaanau are the best people to identify their own needs.
