Budgeting and help with debt

Nga Tangata Microfinance offers three loan products which are offered at no interest or fees and are safe, fair and affordable. The first Asset Building Get Ahead loan (with a limit of $3,000*) is to assist with family asset building and wellbeing or essential items or services. This is interpreted broadly – including items such as whiteware, furniture, beds, fence mending, hearing assessment and mobile phones, amongst others. The second loan product Debt-Relief Get Control loan is for relief from high interest debt, including debt consolidation (with a limit of $5,000*). The third loan is combination, the Get Set loan with a limit of $3,000* , which can include an asset purchase (with a limit of $2,000*) and repayment of high interest debt. ELIGIBILITY: Qualifying conditions for all loan applicants include a Community Services Card or a low income and the willingness and capacity to repay the loan within 2 years. Applicants must be NZ residents and over 18 years in age. Nga Tangata Microfinance values the relationship that clients have with a financial mentor for a minimum period of 1 month in order to qualify for a loan, with financial education and literacy occurring alongside our loans being important. These loans may not be for everyone nor every situation (e.g. they are not for urgent situations or emergencies). Nil interest loans that are safe, fair and affordable.
