Whakatipu Youth Trust is a not for profit organisation that works alongside young people aged 10-24 to ensure rangitahi have the skills, self-worth, well-being, resilience and support they need to reach their full potential. Our Kaupapa is to create safe environments, trusted relationships and opportunities to empower our youth to live purposeful and meaningful lives.

We provide mild to moderate mental health services. WYT provides social work, youth mentoring, group programmes, school holiday activities and other positive youth development opportunities throughout the Queenstown Central Lakes Region.

Youth Social Work

Walking together, social work can support youth to develop the tools and skills they may require to navigate their environment. Social work can provide psychoeducation, advocacy and coordinate a range of other supports and services for rangitahi.

Youth Mentoring

Walking alongside young people, mentoring can provide rangitahi with an alternative trusted adult who can support young people to achieve goals, grow life skills, build resilience, ensure their voice is heard and realise their potential. Mentoring can be one-on-one or group based.

Attendance Advisory

Working with families and schools to re-engage tamariki back into education as well as refer and connect students/families with social service support if required.

Programmes are designed by WYT Youth Workers to help youth build on their existing skills or provide the opportunity to develop new ones. We run a variety of term and holiday programmes, as well as pop-up and one off events.
