Mr Goldsmith is a fully registered Oral Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Otago at the end of 2010 with a Clinical Doctorate in Oral Surgery (DClinDent (Oral Surgery)) after eight years of study and research. Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry (BDS) in 2006. The following year he secured a year long post as a house surgeon for the University and Dunedin public hospital.

In 2008 Sam was offered a training position as an Oral Surgery resident at the department of Oral Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences at the University of Otago. During his residency Sam gained much experience in the management of oral diseases and disorders, dental implant surgery and associated procedures, surgical management of impacted teeth, incisional and excisional oral biopsy, apical surgery (Apicectomy), release of lingual and labial frenal attachments (Frenectomy) and other pre-orthodontic and pre-prosthodontic procedures.

After graduating Sam moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2011 to operate at Scott clinic and Royston Hospital as an Oral Surgeon.

Sam has a special interest in dental implant treatment, bone grafting procedures and maxillary sinus augmentation (sinus lift), as well as third molar (wisdom teeth) surgery.
