Interventional Cardiology. Dr Smyth is one of the highest volume operators in the country. Consequently he performs some of the most complex interventional procedures.

Cardiologist

Dr Smyth trained in General Cardiology and Medicine at the London Chest Hospital and then Kings College Hospital in London. He trained in Interventional Cardiology at Kings before being appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Waikato Hospital and then Wellington Hospital. He took up his current position at Christchurch Hospital in 1994. He is now Director of the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory at Christchurch Hospital. He has been in private practice since 1998.
