Dr. John Ferguson is a specialist spinal surgeon.
After graduating from Auckland Medical School he completed four years of basic surgical training at Auckland and Tauranga Hospitals.
Following this he was accepted for 4 further years of advanced orthopaedic surgical training in New Zealand gaining his Royal Australasian College Fellowship in 2003.
He then dedicated the next 2 years to an international fellowship in spinal surgery completing research and participating in surgery with world leaders in the field of spinal deformity and degeneration at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, The University of Utah, The Woodridge Spine Center and Washington University.
Dr Ferguson is a fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society, The Spinal Deformity Study Group, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, The Spinal Arthroplasty Society and the AOSpine International group.
