MD 2001 Rush
Dr Richard Gould grew up in England, before moving to the USA in 1991. During his time in America, he quit his career in finance and moved to medicine.
He finished his training in family medicine, qualifying in 2004. In 2005 he spent 6 months working in Waimate, NZ and has been looking to return to NZ ever since. In 2016, he finally took the plunge and moved permanently to New Zealand with his family.
He looks forward to the unique challenges rural medicine offers saying "I try to assist the patient from their starting point, where they are in their vision of health and try to improve it Little pieces at a time."

A "Vocationally Registered" doctor has qualifications and experience that allow them to be registered as a specialist in a particular scope of practice e.g. General Practice, Urgent Care. These doctors can work independently in New Zealand.
