Shiu is a consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist at Waitakere Hospital where he has developed a unique understanding of LMC midwifery due to the absence of junior staff and the greater demands on the specialists.

Shiu is an expert surgeon and holds a surgical position at both North Shore Hospital and the new Elective Surgical Centre.
