Originally from a rural area in the Netherlands, I moved to Belgium to study medicine before furthering my expertise with a degree in tropical medicine. My husband, Joost, and I then moved to Mozambique, where I taught medicine at the University.

General practice was a natural choice for me—I enjoy the variety, the long-term relationships with patients, and the opportunity to uncover the ‘story behind the story’ in healthcare. My approach to medicine is holistic, ensuring that I consider the whole person rather than just the symptoms.

I am an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, having completed advanced training through the Skin Cancer College Australasia. This has provided me with specialized expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing skin cancer. If you're due for a skin check, I’d love to help.

I also have a special interest in menopause, supporting women through this important stage of life with evidence-based care and guidance. In addition, I have extensive experience in Women’s Health, including IUD insertions.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me enjoying the great outdoors, making the most of the beautiful landscapes around us.
