Profile

Kia Ora.

I was born in the North-East of England; studied at St. Andrews then Manchester University, – graduating in 1981. I found my Scotsman, Joe, and moved to Edinburgh where I completed my GP training gaining Membership to the Royal College of GP's and then worked as a GP in Edinburgh for several years.

Joe was offered a one year teaching exchange in New Zealand and we both fell in love with this piece of Paradise. We eagerly emigrated with our three little girls in 1994. For twenty years I worked as a GP in Taupō/Tūrangi. Once all our girls had finished university, Joe and I set off traveling around New Zealand and Australia, Joe started writing while I did the locum work. Now I have finally “grown up” and decided to settle in the Ōhope area. We have moved to a lifestyle block and I am rapidly learning, (not necessarily successfully), about  farming !

People and whānau are central to General Practice – that is very important to me. I enjoy all aspects of General Practice, the variety, the challenge and the fact that we are always learning.
