Mr Russell Fowler

MB ChB 1984 Otago; FRACS 1995

Russell trained in NZ graduating from Otago University and worked in joint replacements and sports medical in Edinburgh before returning to NZ to work in Greymouth for four years. He then returned to Invercargill. 

Russell has performed at least 2500 hip, knee and shoulder replacements including revision procedures while in Invercargill. He has further specialisation in arthroscopic work especially of the shoulder and knee including sports medicine work and has helped support the Southland Stags orthopaedically for the past 19 years.

As a General Orthopaedic Surgeon with a wide range of specialty interests, he is proud to be able to offer these life-changing services to Southern Cross, and has done so for 19 years in Invercargill.

Russell performs many primary and revision hip, knee and shoulder replacements, as well as working in sports medicine doing arthroscopic reconstructive shoulder and knee work.
