Dr Rianet Post trained in South Africa in the 80’s and 90’s and completed her dermatology speciality training in 1994. Dr Post ran a skin cancer clinic in Auckland from 1996 during which she attended the world melanoma conference in Sydney, where the use of dermascope was introduced by Professor Rhona MacKie from Scotland for the first time.
Dr Post left to work in the UK as a dermatologist in 2000 until 2021 and returned to work in NZ as a primary care doctor doing skin cancer and some dermatology.
During Covid in the UK, Dr Post's work consisted 90% of skin cancer. There she attended multi-disciplinary meetings where the best possible treatment and follow up pathways were discussed for people with melanoma, SCC and BCCs.
