Dr Aravind Chandran

MB ChB 2001 Leeds; FRACP 2016 - Dermatology

Dr Chandran graduated from The University of Leeds School of Medicine, United Kingdom. He moved to New Zealand and worked in general medicine in Hawke’s Bay and Auckland. He undertook dermatology training in Auckland and Waikato before completing his Dermatology Fellowship at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is a New Zealand specialist board registered dermatologist.

Dr Chandran is appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist at Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre. He is actively involved with medical education and is a supervisor of training for New Zealand dermatology trainees, junior doctors and medical students. Dr Chandran is part of the team that runs the pigmented lesion clinic (melanoma) at Auckland District Health Board.

Dr Chandran  also consults in the private sector at the Skin Specialist Centre with rooms in both central and west Auckland.

Dr Chandran is a general dermatologist with a broad range of special interest including:

• Skin cancers (skin surgery and non-surgical treatments), skin and mole checks
• Medical dermatology – acne, rosacea, hyperhidrosis, psoriasis, biologic treatments, eczema and disorders of pigmentation
• Cosmetic dermatology and lasers.
