Dr Micheline Naidu was born and raised in west Auckland, and is of Tahitian, Cook Island, and NZ-European decent. Micheline completed her medical training at the University of Auckland in 2011.
She initially worked in the hospital environment before moving into General Practice in late 2014. Micheline is known for her caring and easy-to-talk to nature. She enjoys the diverse presentations in general practice, as well as getting to know families, and being able to explain things simply, so her patients better understand their condition and health needs.
Micheline is married to Vijay who is of Fijian-Indian descent, and together they have 2 children and a dog. Micheline enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games and watching movies. She sings in the worship team at her local church, and she has an interest in medical missions with the non-for-profit organisation Healthcare Christian Fellowship NZ which she currently chairs.
Dr Nigel Brown is an experienced GP who has recently shifted from East Auckland to be closer to family in Hobsonville. His previous GP position was at the Beachlands Medical Centre for 12 years; before this he was a GP practice owner in Timaru for 20 years. He was born in Christchurch and is a graduate of Otago Medical School (1984), and achieved Fellowship of RNZCGP in 1999. He has an interest in management of skin cancer, providing diagnosis and minor surgery for this common problem
He is married to Robyn and they have two adult children and will soon have two grandchildren. His current interests are family, running for health and fitness, and settling into a new home and community. He would love to do more cycling and tramping.
Nigel enjoys working in general practice, and values the continuity of care that it allows. He is looking forward to being a part of the team at Doctors on Luckens, and to provide a high standard of professional care for the enrolled patients.
Dr Yuchen Zhang was born in Tianjin, China, and has lived in Auckland since the age of five. He attended Auckland Grammar School, before completing his medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2017.
During his first three postgraduate years, he completed a range of attachments as a junior doctor across hospitals in the Auckland region. In 2020, Yuchen gained a Diploma in Paediatrics from the University of Auckland.
Yuchen commenced the General Practice training programme with RNZCGP in 2021. He takes a broad interest across many areas of medicine and enjoys the breadth of General Practice, as well as the opportunity to help and learn more about his patients over time. He is committed to lifelong learning and teaching, and values explaining things in a simple and easy to understand way, to enable his patients to better understand their health.
Outside of medicine, Yuchen enjoys playing table tennis, chess, sightseeing and exploring our beautiful country.
The practice is supported by our lovely nurse Jenny Burnette, who is well known and respected in the West Auckland community. A veteran nurse with many years of clinical experience, she is great with children and vaccinations. She is also trained to do PAP smears and yearly immunisations for influenza. Her friendly smile and manner will warm your heart.
