Harry grew up in Rotorua and Hamilton before moving to Auckland to study physiology and pharmacology at Auckland University. On completion of his studies he moved to Sydney to study medicine at the University of Notre Dame. He also undertook postgraduate clinic experience in critical care medicine, anaesthesia, and urgent care.

On returning home to NZ he did further training in Phlebology (vein care) which includes basic training in Phlebology and the ASUM certificate of clinician-performed ultrasound (lower limb venous ultrasound).
