Description
Our two adult community teams provide mental health, addictions and perinatal mental health support.
We have two Adult Community Mental Health & Addiction teams – one based at Te Ngako, supporting the Rotorua community, and one based at Taupō Hospital supporting the Southern Lakes community (Taupō, Tūrangi and Mangakino).
Staff
Each community team has representation from psychiatry, psychology, community nursing, social work, occupational therapy and addiction specialists.
Our Taupō based services also includes primary mental health and addiction clinicians who work closely with GPs in the region and deliver talking therapies.

New Zealand citizens or those who have obtained permanent residence are entitled to publicly funded health care.
Non-residents may be required to pay for their health care.

Lakes Opioid Treatment Service
This is a specialist service focused on reducing the harms of Opioid Dependence (uncontrolled addiction to morphine, oxycodone, methadone, codeine, etc). The service is part of Lakes DHB Mental Health and Addiction Services. It is based in Rotorua with satellite clinics covering Taupō, Tūrangi and Mangakino.

Detox and rehabilitation
Clients can self-refer or can be referred by a medical practitioner or by other alcohol and drug services. When referred, clients are offered an appointment within 2 weeks.
