In addition to part-time practice at the Wakefield Specialist Medical Centre, Associate Professor Taylor is Consultant Rheumatologist and Rehabilitation Physician at Hutt Hospital, and visiting Rheumatologist to Gisborne Hospital. He is also Associate Professor (Rehabilitation) at the University of Otago, Wellington, and supervises a number of Masters and PhD students.
His principal research interests include health-status measurement, especially in relation to psoriatic arthritis and gout, and rehabilitation process, especially goal-setting. His clinical interests include adult rheumatology and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. He was previously a member of the National Health Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Rheumatology Association.
Specialist Training:
Associate Professor Taylor trained in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine at Hutt Hospital, Middlemore Hospital and the Ōtara Spinal Injuries Unit. He undertook further fellowship training at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
He also completed a PhD in 2008.
