Dr Rakesh Patel

MB ChB 1991 Auckland; FRACP 2004

Dr Patel is a University of Auckland graduate. He trained through Starship Children's Hospital and completed his fellowship in paediatric neurology through Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney.

He gained a Diploma in Paediatrics though University of Auckland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatric Neurology. He works at Starship Childrens Hospital as a Specialist Paediatric Neurologist.

Dr Patel has an Honorary appointment in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Auckland Medical School and is also involved with postgraduate teaching programmes.

He is the New Zealand representative for the Asia Oceania Child Neurology Association and Chairs the New Zealand Paediatric Neurology Clinical Network.
