Description

Hearts & Minds is a community-based primary mental health organisation that provides psycho-social support, groups, and health navigation in the Waitemata region.

A referral from a GP, healthcare professional or approved agency is necessary in order to enrol in the free groups. Clients are welcome to contact Hearts & Minds directly for any enquiries.

Staff

All staff are trained to provide confidential, judgement-free information, advice and support relating to Mental Wellbeing, Family/Whānau Wellbeing and Community Wellbeing.

Wellbeing & Resilience Programme: Free with a doctor's referral or an agency referral.

Office hours are from 9:00am - 4:00pm

Groups/Courses/Workshops are often held in the evenings and weekends, times are specified on the programme brochure and in the confirmation letters sent to participants.

A free service open to all people across the Waitemata region, the Health & Support Navigation service can be accessed by phone, email, and in person. Self-referral and doctor/agency referrals are accepted.

Wellbeing and Resilience Programme

An accessible range of high quality, community-based groups/courses/workshops with a special focus on Mental Wellbeing. All programmes are delivered by qualified and experienced therapists/counsellors, who are overseen by our Clinical Supervisor. Groups/courses/workshops are provided in a safe and inclusive community setting, with a focus on positive psychology and building the resilience of participants. Topics include: Overcoming Anxiety Moving Past Depression Managing Anger Building Self-Esteem & Confidence Communication Skills Stress Management Art Therapy Overcoming Social Isolation (Friendship Group)

Referral Process

    To be completed by Doctor/GP and emailed or faxed to Hearts & Minds who will then contact the patient and inform them of available groups/courses relating to their area of interest/concern.
