Ngāti Porou Hauora covers the area from the Anaura Bay turnoff up to the northern Tairāwhiti boundary.
The symbol of Te Whare o Te Rito is the harakeke or flax plant which symbolises our philosophy in working with infants, children, young people and their families.
The rito or the young shoot is representative of our child or young person while the older larger leaves that protect the rito represent the support systems within the family and community. Like the rito, our children and young people need our support to be able to grow strong and straight so that they can be a support for the next generation themselves in the future.
