Description
We provide assessment, treatment and care to tangata whaiora / consumers of all ages and their whānau, Oranga Hinengaro Kaupapa Māori Mental Health and Addictions service is the Paiaka arm of Paeora Paiaka Whaiora Hauora Māori. We cover Papaieoa and Horowhenua area.
We acknowledge the approach and change of Te Matapuna o te Ora and the value of Iwi relationship in providing Access and Choice working alongside our community partners to ensure Whaiora and Whānau meet a high quality of care outcomes for Māori Whānau across our Rural and Palmerston North based Localities. Across the Mental Health and Addiction service including Kaupapa Māori Services we have moved to these the pathway programmes below defining our contribution to whaiora and whānau ora.
1. Access to the Tomokanga Kaupapa crisis response Unplanned entry. Referral to the service from Iwi providers and wider community services for informed based treatment or work with community based services to remain within their community
2. Flexible Assertive Community Team FACT for whaiora who have enduring to long-term care that engages in Kaupapa Māori recovery orientated approach, community based support with crisis intervention with a whole team approach in the clinical care management.
3. Time Limited Therapies Short term for whaiora who require Talking Therapies accessing Practice based Māori Led Therapies as well as Evidenced Based. This will have a set timeframe and review of progress.

Our team members are based in Papaieoa and Horowhenua.
