Te Kupenga Hauora Ahuriri is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Māori. We have been delivering independent, quality health and social services to Ahuriri (Napier) since 1994. Our services are mobile (we can come to you if needed) and our services are FREE.

Covid Vaccinations are available from 3pm to 5.45pm on Tuesdays.

Stop Smoking Support

This is a cessation service for those that wish to quit smoking. This is provided through individual and group support by two AKP workers. Because Tobacco is a dominant killer for Māori, this service and a Smoke-free kaupapa is a priority for Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri. We are a provider of the Te Haa Matea - Hawke's Bay Stop Smoking Service.

This programme promotes community action and coordination across all sectors in order to create positive impact on the health and well being of taitamariki Māori by raising the awareness of suicide prevention.

Services Provided

Health screening

Screening is provided at our Health clinic, 5 Sales Street (transport can be arranged, pick up/drop off) and via our mobile clinic, at home and in the community. Call us (06) 835 1840 to make an appointment.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines Covid-19 vaccines can be administered before, after, or at the same time as other national schedule vaccines. When the Nuvaxovid vaccine is given at the same time as the Shingrix shingles vaccine or the Fluad Quad flu vaccine, there may be a chance of experiencing a stronger post-vaccination response and you should discuss this with your vaccinator. Covid Vaccinations are available for all whānau aged 5 years and over. Give us a call or you can book via the national Book my Vaccine system. Our clinic is open on Mondays (except public holidays) from 3.00pm to 5.45pm. Bookings are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Our Outreach Team is also available for those with aged, disability or mobility difficulties.
