Description
We have launched a new Integrated Primary Mental Health & Addictions service, Te Manawanui, that is embedded within primary healthcare (general practice). The Te Manawanui service is designed around Taranaki Māori communities but it is for everyone. The service aims to provide support that is culturally responsive, accessible, practical and convenient so that it uplifts hauora (health and well-being) of individuals and their w'ānau.
Te Manawanui addresses the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that underlie poor health, integrating mental health and physical health needs. Individuals may benefit from Te Manawanui to support issues including anxiety, whānau relationships, stress, depression and lifestyle choices.
Te Manawanui is a whole of health approach, enabling increased access to people at the time and level that it is needed.
