Description
Whaioro Trust is a Kaupapa Māori Provider of Mental Health and Addiction Services supporting people experiencing mental health issues into employment and/or training from Feilding through to Ōtaki. We provide early intervention counselling for rangatahi (youth) dealing with alcohol and drug issues in wider Horowhenua. Additionally a Health Coaching service is available in Feilding and Ōtaki and Social worker and navigational staff cover the wider Manawatu/Horowhenua areas.

Mahi Tu Ora is a supported employment service aimed at assisting Tangata Whaiora to gain meaningful employment and/or training. The programme focuses on the aspirations of Nga Tangata Whaiora. The Mahi Tu Ora programme operates in the Manawatu and the Horowhenua region. Our kaiwhakahaere-a-mahi (coaches) assist those coping with mental health issues to find employment, and/or training. We assist them to reach their aspirations with goal setting, tailored planning, 1-1 support and coaching. Once they attain their goals we then assist them through additional planning to remain in work or training by ensuring that they have whānau and wider community supports in place.

Whaioro Trust's counselling service provides education and support to rangatahi (youth), aged 10 – 17 years, using or affected by alcohol and other drugs, and their whānau. Referrals can be made directly or through education facilities, Government agencies, other local NGOs, and Iwi services. This programme is offered in the wider Horowhenua area, with the staff based in Levin.
