Description

Ngā Manga Pūriri has been operating in Tai Tokerau for 25+ years, our team consists of Dapaanz Practitioners, Registered Social Workers and Kaupapa Māori Practitioners. 

We are a free confidential mobile service throughout Te Tai Tokerau supporting whānau experiencing harm from problem gambling and other addictions.

Services are free with the exception of one-to-one care support which is by arrangement.

Harmful Gambling and Other Addictions

Nga Manga Puriri provide community based support to individuals with any of a range of gambling problems, with co-existing gambling problems and mental health (including substance use) problems, those at risk of developing pathological gambling problems and those who have been affected by the gambling of a family/whānau member or significant other. NMP have a team of experienced and qualified practitioners who are networked with other service providers and supports throughout the Northern region. We offer mobile services throughout Northland. We can visit at your place of choice or at community based services for group programmes. We currently offer groups in Whangārei.

We take referrals from any source including self-referral, GP, DHB, social services or any other organisation.

Our services can be accessed by young people/taitamariki (14-17 years) and adults/pākeke (18 years and over).

Travel Directions

We are located in the lane across the road from Omak Butchers on the corner by the police station and the hairdressers.  Walk down to the end of the lane and you will see our sign, we are next to Ontrack Bookkeeping.

Public Transport

We have a bus stop located out the front of our office on Kamo Road by the Happy Dragon Chinese shop.

Parking

Parking is limited, but you can usually find off-street parking on any of the side streets off Kamo Road, or in the carpark to the side and rear of Macdonalds and 4Square.
