Mr Patrick Dawes

Patrick trained in the United Kingdom and spent one year as a teaching Fellow in the ENT Department at Dunedin Hospital. After five years consultant practice in the UK he returned to Dunedin and took up his academic and clinical positions.

While Patrick is based in Dunedin at Suite 20 of the Marinoto Clinic he has provided clinical services at Southland Hospital since 1999 and has offered private appointments in both Queenstown and Invercargill since 2001.

Patrick’s areas of specialisation are otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, otology (ear surgery), rhinology and snoring/obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) surgery.

Patrick’s areas of special interest are: surgery for ear disease, particularly children’s ear surgery; surgery for otosclerosis (stapedectomy); and surgery for chronic sinusitis. Patrick also has a strong research interest in children’s tonsil and adenoid disease and works with researchers in the Department of Paediatrics and Computer Science.
