My name is Nicola Carmody, I am a registered midwife and have a BHSc (Midwifery). I am a mother to three wonderful children. During each of my childbirth experiences I discovered how fulfilling and empowering childbirth can be. As a result I am passionate about enabling empowerment during the maternity experience, regardless of the mode of delivery. I feel an important part to this process is informed choice and information sharing, which enables each woman to make the decisions that are best for her and her baby. I see pregnancy and childbirth as a normal life event. I also realise that each and every childbirth experience will be unique. As a result I believe in individualised care that is best matched to each individuals needs. I provide maternity care throughout pregnancy, labour and birth and for up to 6 weeks postnatally.

Birth facilities attended: Primarily Waitakere Hospital, but if complications develop I maintain continuity of care at North Shore.
