She is happy to discuss both conventional and alternative forms of treatment for most hormonal problems, including the use of herbal remedies and Bio-identical hormones.

Services offered:

  • general gynaecology
  • management of female urinary incontinence
  • urodynamic studies
  • management of pelvic organ prolapse – conservative and surgical
  • management of menopause – both hormonal and non-hormonal treatment
  • irregular periods and abnormal bleeding
  • painful scars and other issues related to either childbirth or previous vaginal surgery, including mesh (ACC accredited).

What is Gynaecology?
Gynaecology is the area of medicine that deals with health issues and conditions that are specific to women. This generally includes the female reproductive organs and genitalia. The reproductive organs consist of the ovaries that release an egg every month, the fallopian tubes that lead from the ovaries, the uterus (womb), the cervix (opening of the uterus) and the vagina.

What is Urogynaecology?
Urogynaecology is a branch of Gynaecology dealing specificaly with bladder and bowel problems that also involve the vagina. Female urinary incontinence; whether mild when a women sneezes or does excercise or major with flooding as well as leakage on the way to the toilet, can usually be managed by a Urogynaecologist. Sypmtoms of a dragging feeling in the vagina or a bulge; whether caused by a dropped uterus, bladder or bowel can aslo usually be helped by visiting a Gynaecologist experienced in Urogynaecology.

What are Urodynamic Studies?
Prior to doing any surgery for urinary incontinence (a leaky bladder) it is often advisable to have a urodynamics test. This test involves filling a person's badder and then measuring the pressure in the bladder. The test is not painful and can be done in the clinic. This enables the surgeon to decide on the best treatment option and can also give the patient a good idea of a possible cure rate.
