Description

Cycles Gynaecology provides consultations, procedures and surgery for gynaecological issues at all stages of the life cycle. We believe that patients should be in control of their treatment and will give you the option to choose the best treatment for your specific situation.

We recognise the special status of Māori as tangata whenua and are committed to meeting our obligations as outlined by Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We appreciate that gynaecology extends beyond Women's Health, and applies to gender diverse people.

Procedures offered
We have a strong preference for minimally invasive surgery wherever possible and appropriate.

Consultations are held at Boulcott Specialist Centre and Kāpiti Day Hospital, surgery and procedures are offered at both locations (Kāpiti - day stay procedures only) as well as Bowen Hospital.

Referral Expectations

The first appointment will always involve a conversation to discuss your concerns. An examination may be recommended, which may involve a genital or internal examination or ultrasound. Sometimes a short procedure may also be offered at the first visit. Examinations and procedures are always optional, and you can always choose not to go ahead, or to wait until another appointment.

After the appointment we may want to arrange investigations including blood tests or ultrasound scans, or occasionally other types of imaging such as CT or MRI scans. You might be offered another clinic appointment or offered surgery or a procedure.  If you are offered surgery or a procedure, the details of the procedure will be discussed with you, including the risks and benefits, and what to expect before, during and after the procedure. You may not find out the date or location of the procedure on the day it is booked, but we will get back to you with this information as soon as we can.
