How do I access this service?

Referral

Referrals may be made by any GP or medical specialist in New Zealand. Once referred, you can usually be seen by a specialist within a week or 2.

Referral Expectations

For your first visit to St George’s Cancer Care, you will need to complete some registration information. These forms can be emailed or mailed to you ahead of your appointment, or you can complete them when you arrive for your appointment.

Your first consultation will typically last an hour or more.
It is a good idea to bring a support person and a list of questions you might have to the consultation.

Your oncologist/haematologist will explain the nature of your illness and talk through recommended treatment options, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

The total cost of your treatment will be determined by your treatment plan. After your first consultation, you will be given an indication of the treatment costs required.
