Description

Māngere Refugee Health Service (MRHS) provides holistic, integrated primary care and health screening to UNHCR quota refugees on arrival in New Zealand whilst resident at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa– Māngere Refugee Resettlement Centre. We aim to provide a continuum of health screening, assessment, and treatment at all stages of their resettlement journey.

We operate as a primary care practice for former refugees while they are resident at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa– Māngere Refugee Resettlement Centre prior to their resettlement in different regions of New Zealand. We provide screening, immunisation planning and vaccine administration, covid-19 swabbing and vaccination, family planning and supply of medications during their stay. Once the former refugees are resettled into regions and enrolled with a GP, we send the notes over as a part of our notes transfer process.

Note to the enrolling practices: Please do not enrol our patients while they are still residing at Māngere Refugee Resettlement Centre. Send the completed and signed enrolment forms for each individual to mangererefugee.healthservice@middlemore.co.nz once they have left Māngere Refugee Resettlement Centre and are enrolled at your practice. We aim to process GP2GP within 5 working days. Please specify in the email if your request is urgent and we will prioritize your request. The notes transfer happens overnight with our Indici PMS.
