Description

Starship Community is a multidisciplinary team of professionals providing nursing, allied health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, dietetics), technical and cultural support to children, young people and their families living within the Auckland DHB area.

Starship Community provides one coordinated service that operates in the five DHB locality areas (See ADHB Locality map below for further details).

LOCALITY BASED SERVICES

The Starship Community Locality teams provide the following services (see details below under "Services" heading):

HEARING AND EAR HEALTH SERVICES

Within the Starship Community Service is the Hearing and Ear Health Team, which combines Audiology, Newborn Hearing Screening, Ear Nurses and Vision and Hearing Testers as one team.

The Hearing and Ear Health team provide the following services:

  • Mobile ear clinics (follow the link for more information)
  • Hearing assessment and intervention at Greenlane Clinical Centre
  • Vision and hearing testing

The team is made up of:

  • Administration support
  • Audiologists
  • Ear Nurses
  • Newborn Hearing Screeners
  • Vision and Hearing Testers

Referral Expectations

Who Can Refer:  General Practitioners and other health professionals
