Rauaroha – Segar House:
Rauaroha – Segar House is a tertiary level specialist psychotherapy service that sits within Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand. It offers an outpatient day programme of therapeutic interventions tailored to individual client's needs within an overarching therapeutic milieu.  The programme accepts referrals for service users who are currently receiving ongoing treatment from Community Mental Health Centres, CADS, and other specialist mental health services (e.g. Tupu Ora, Aronui Ora, Manawanui) within the ADHB and WDHB catchment areas.  We do not accept self, general practitioner or private clinical referrals. The programme is designed to complement and/or expand upon psychological interventions offered within referring services that clients have previously engaged with.

Model of Care:
The Rauaroha programme consists of a combination of individual and group therapy, and utilizes a variety of therapy modalities including, Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), trauma focused therapies, and Psychodynamic approaches. The interventions offered are designed for individuals diagnosed with a range of complex mental health difficulties.  These difficulties often include a combination of depression, anxiety and personality disorder symptoms, problems with affect regulation, and symptoms related to trauma.

Clinical Team:
The Rauaroha clinical team includes Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, an Art Therapist, and a Psychiatrist (total clinical FTE 6.8).

Cultural Responsiveness:
The service recognises the importance of providing culturally sensitive interventions, consistent with Te Tiriti obligations and has processes and training in place to support the cultural and spiritual needs of Tangata Whaiora. Regular specialist cultural supervision occurs and Rauaroha will access cultural support for Māori and Pacific Island service users through relevant providers. The majority of staff have been trained in the Dynamics of Whanaungatanga.
